She fishes for likes
like I fish for the words
to describe
what it’s like to feel
unliked by the people
who act like they like me
in real life,
even though they don’t like
my poems on Instagram.
Only she’s better at
fishing than I am.
And I guess it makes sense.
I’d rather look at her ass
than look at my words
too.
It just seems like a step back
for humanity.
