Fate

Sometimes
we like to imagine
that we’ve stumbled into
fate.
We think that this,
us,
together,
happened just the way
that destiny wrote
it on a stone
in some heaven
that must exist
somewhere.
Only we’re wrong.
Because fate,
and desitny,
and love,
are nothing but
country songs
written by ghost writers
in the Hollywood hills.
